Pádraig Hughes holds an LLB and MA (International Relations) and was called to the Irish Bar in 1999. Prior to joining INTERIGHTS Pádraig practised in the areas of commercial law, criminal law and refugee law. He joined INTERIGHTS in September 2008 and has advised on and submitted briefs in cases before various international bodies including the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Committee of Social Rights.
