Litigation Director
Helen Duffy is the Litigation Director of INTERIGHTS. Prior positions held include Legal Officer at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, Counsel to Human rights Watch, Legal Director of CALDH, Guatemala and Legal Advisor to the UK Scott Arms for Iraq Inquiry. Helen specialises in human rights litigation and has engaged in human rights cases in the Inter-American, African and European human rights systems, and before treaty bodies, sub-regional and national courts. She regularly lectures and publishes on international law; publications in the field of terrorism include ‘The War on Terror and the Framework of International law’, Cambridge University Press, 2005 and 'Human Rights Litigation and the ‘War on Terror’ IRRC, September 2008. She is a graduate of the Universities of Glasgow, London and Edinburgh, a member of the advisory boards of the Centre for Reproductive Rights, the Project on International Courts and Tribunals (UCL) and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy and Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow.
