Judy graduated in law from Makerere University, Uganda and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Sweden. She is admitted to the Ugandan Bar. Before joining INTERIGHTS in 2004, she worked at the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa, a regional organisation based in the Gambia, where she used international and comparative law to undertake litigation and capacity building work. During that time, she was a guest lecturer at the LLM programme of the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria. Judy has written on human rights issues concerning Africa. She is currently a trustee of AbleChild Africa, a UK based charity that works with disabled children and young people in Africa. Particular interests include the right to health and security and rule of law issues. Judy has lived in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. Languages: Luo, Luganda, Kiswahili and French.
