VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
INTERIGHTS welcomes
volunteer applications from those who wish to gain valuable experience
working in an international human rights environment alongside a legal
officer or supervisor on one of our regional or thematic programmes.
As a volunteer the work you do
varies according to the programme you are working on, the needs of the
legal officer directing you, and your level of experience. In the past,
volunteer work has ranged from research, to case summarising, to general
administration. To be considered for legal work you must have some
relevant experience: our minimum requirements are that you are studying
for a law degree or undertaking the CPE. Volunteer vacancies for general
administration occur from time to time. To be eligible for these you must
have some experience of working in an office. Sometimes INTERIGHTS requires administration volunteers with specific experience. These
vacancies are advertised on the web site and sometimes in the press.
We usually require a commitment
lasting a minimum of six weeks, during which time we like our volunteers
to work at least two days each week. However, we are flexible about this
and your legal officer may wish to make more individual arrangements.
If you wish to volunteer with us
please download and complete our volunteer application form (at the
bottom of this page) and send it to us by email or post with your curriculum
vitae and covering letter, telling us what you can offer
INTERIGHTS and what you hope to gain from volunteering with us. Please
also specify which programme(s) you are interested in working on and why. You
must fulfil these requirements for your application to be considered.
Send your application to volunteering@interights.org
