Internship activities
Relevant
to all types of Internship
The exact
nature of activities will depend on organisational and programme
priorities at the time of the placement, however, it is likely
that the main focus will include:

Legal
research on international and comparative human rights law and
practice to support the preparation of briefs before domestic
courts;

Preparation
of materials for legal training or INTERIGHTS publications,
predominantly on the application and development of the right to
non-discrimination, liberty and security of the person and freedom
of expression and economic, social and cultural rights;

Involvement
in programme administration and development;

Interns
are encouraged to attend staff meetings at which current human
rights developments and organisational policy are discussed. They
may arrange meetings with human rights practitioners in the UK, or
visit other international or national human right organisations
based in London, and may attend human rights lectures in London or
other universities, wherever possible.
Interns are assigned to work with a supervisor
who is responsible for providing them with a description of duties
and a work-plan. Upon completion of the internship, both the
supervisor and the intern are required to complete an evaluation
form.
